I can’t imagine the circumstances which led MTV2 to ever played this video, but I’m glad they did. It was a #1 hit in 1979, and was actually released a year before “Theme From the Duke of Hazzard”. But Waylon’s song is the ode to good ol’ boys that people still remember today.

“Cactus accident”? That’s fun to say. Remember, your day could be worse…

This guy fell backwards onto a cactus after a few drinks while playing a round of golf at a desert course. It took paramedics over three hours to remove the cactus before he could get into an ambulance and go to the hospital.
