The Dead - Get Weirder I used go to the Grateful Dead shows.  I’ve never really warmed to the latter-day reconstituted versions, but that probably has little to do with anything the old guys are doing.  Going to a show this summer wouldn’t be out of the question.  They haven’t announced any plans yet, but stuff like this video leads me to believe that their recent handful of dates isn’t some sort of one-off affair.  I was less enthusiastic about their involvement in the recent presidential campaign.  It seemed like a retreat from the old anti-establishment / counterculture vibe they had sent out for so long.  A retreat that might not have occurred if you-know-who was still  around.  But maybe it speaks not to a change in the band, but to a change on a much larger, more fundamental scale. Whatever the case, I wish them well.
