“Down Home Girl” by the Coasters.  “Every time I kiss you, child, it tastes like pork and beans.”  It doesn’t get much more romantic than that.  This tune has been covered by the Rolling Stones and, more recently, by the Old Crow Medicine Show. The original is superior to the Stones and OCMS versions for at least two reasons: 1) more verses— all so greasy you’ll need a wet-nap— and 2) bass-man extraordinaire Dub Jones.
